The Mind & Body Consortium offers counseling and mental health services to the Dover, DE and Milford, DE areas. Our clinicians have over 100 combined years of experience in helping our clients improve the quality of their lives. Since we're one of the largest, privately-owned organizations in this area, we're able to provide our clients with many services in one location.
Intake & Assessments
An initial evaluation to determine level of care, clinical diagnosis and course of treatment.
Individual Sessions
Client-centered sessions that focus on the management and diagnosis of mental illnesses. These sessions are also used to educate the client of their clinical condition and work towards the client reaching their full potential. Individual sessions can also be used for life coaching and mentoring for emotionally well individuals looking to determine and achieve individual goals.
Family Sessions
Counseling sessions that focus on the family as parts of the whole.
Couples / Marital Counseling
Sessions that specialize in marriage, family and relationship issues.
Court Ordered Evaluations
Assessments ordered by the Court of Delaware. Assessments can be for divorce proceedings, custody proceedings, anger management, substance abuse, etc.
Crisis Intervention
Services provided on site at the Employer's discretion to help with traumatic events, such as shootings, accidental deaths and lay-offs.

Employee Assistance Programs
Employee benefit programs offered by many employers, typically in conjunction with a health insurance plan. EAPs are intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, well-being, and health. EAPs generally include assessment, short-term counseling, and referral services for employees and their household members.
Psychiatric Assessments
An assessment completed by a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner. These evaluations may or may not cumulate into a diagnosis. Additional sessions or collateral information may be requested prior to diagnostic determination.
Medication Management
Ongoing treatment to monitor a medication regimen. Appointments are scheduled based on an individual treatment plan.

Offered one Saturday each month, from 9am - 3pm, conducted by Shawn Vanvessen, L.C.S.W. These seminars are often ordered by the Family Court System.
